Sometimes topics for my blog appear completely unbidden in my head, the posts almost entirely written before I even sit down. Other times… not so much.

The creative process is just like that for me. I’ve come to expect it and, more importantly, I’ve come to accept and even appreciate it. Eventually, my old friend Inspiration shows up. And if she doesn’t, my other (less glamorous) old friend, Self-Discipline, takes her place.

Because even on those days when inspiration doesn’t strike, I still have to sit down and get the work done.

In the past few days, I have hit the 100% mark on the first draft of the third book in my first series – all untitled as of this writing. And I’m not gonna lie – it feels awesome!!

I also know I’m not done. I still have to go back and finish book two, then revise and edit the whole series. All while getting back into the books I’ve already started for my second series. (2022 is going to be a busy year for me, I think!)

On top of all of that, I’ve decided to update my website a little bit. The writing samples I have up there, with one exception, aren’t actually romance stories. I put them up there as place holders when I started the site and have been so busy writing, I’ve never gone back to change them!

There is a new couple who has been kicking around my head for the past few weeks and I think it may be time to put their story down on paper (so to speak) and use that for my website. I just have to figure out how to do their story justice while keeping it short enough to be read in that format.
