I love the idea of vision boards and mood boards. Recently I have been taking part in a writer’s challenge on Instagram. One of the challenges was to come up with a vision board for my story.

I’ve been using Pinterest for ages for collecting inspiration, but putting images together into one vision board was a new one for me. And I LOVED it!

I spent some time looking through photos on Unsplash.com, which was a lot of fun – especially the search for “biceps.” 😊 The hero of my story is a personal trainer, and he shows the heroine how to do proper bicep curls. It was a fun scene to write, and they were fun pictures to search through!

The best part for me was seeing the contrasting personalities of my characters when I put the photos next to each other. He is all seriousness and working out, and she is sitting on the floor eating a bag of Funyuns with a big grin on her face. It expresses their opposite personalities to a T!

Writing this story was so much fun and putting together the vision board for the writer’s challenge brought another dimension of enjoyment to the project and life to the story.
